Learning how to use your new Roland (Boss) DR-880 has never been easier thanks to the official Roland DVD Owner's Manual!

The DR-880 is a rhythm-programming powerhouse that’s loaded with world-class drum, percussion, and bass sounds from Roland’s famous SRX library. It also includes a stunning collection of original waveforms. You can get microscopic with the DR-880, but you also have the option of taking the simple route with its three EZ Compose buttons, which allow original patterns to be constructed without note-by-note programming hassles. Patterns can be taken deeper with the Groove Modify feature, where various groove and triplet feels can be applied. Ghost notes and fills can also be added automatically. Guitar and bass players can join the action by plugging directly to the DR-880’s Guitar/Bass Input jack, and playing through the built-in COSM® Drive/Amp models and multi-effects.

Take your DR-880 skills to the next level and pick up the official Roland DVD Tutorial today!

A highly recommended course

I have owned my 880 for over a year but I have barely used it until now because I hate manuals, found the machine frustrating and unintuitive, and the YouTube tutorials people put up were well intentioned but hard to gain a good grounding from.

This course was fantastic. I watched it all the way through, then had to do so again, then practiced while using the course as a reference guide.

The result was that at some point it all just clicked and I've got it. I now look at the machine as a friend and have already started making a pretty convincing and complex backing track for a song.

I've also got the zoom r24 course and the boss br800. I've done both of them too and they're fantastic

What a great training

I bought this dr880 used. Just bought it cause i loved the sounds and played with a midi kb. I had no idea of the power and flexibility this unit has but thanks to this training I now can use it live and in the studio. Awesome training. Thanks worth every penny.

Very handy and useful video guide of the Roland DR-880

This guide is very helpful for getting started with the Roland DR-880, my first drum machine. I have seen it being used by gypsies in France and had to have one. David Wills is giving a quick and easy to understand introduction, while later going into the details and presenting the various possibilites for recording, editing, creating patterns and songs from scratch and more advanced features. He is probably right saying that this is one of the best drum machines that has ever been produced. The video guide is unique and fun to watch.

Boss DR-880 Tutorial

Other reviews claimed that this tutorial gave them a thorough understanding of the operating procedure of Boss DR-880 whereas the Manual was lacking in explanation. They are telling the truth! I couldn't figure out what the manual was saying but after this tutorial I've mastered the Boss DR-880 concept.

Essential viewing

Forget the manual, it comes nowhere close to revealing the hidden depths of this magnificent beat box. I have been able to put together some convincing demos to illustrate to my drummer what is needed to make the tracks sparkle. David is engaging, as ever, and instils confidence as he ploughs through the myriad of special treats in store for the owner of a DR880. Top notch.

Recommending the Roland (Boss) DR-880 Tutorial

The boss DR-880 Dr Rhythm seems to be out of date today, but to me as a guitar teacher it opens a little rhythmic wonderworld which before I could not imagine. I am so happy that I could buy an almost new machine for less then half the price. It worth any cent. The same I want to make shure about the turorial that David Wills produced for ProAudioEXP.
I am very impressed, to say the least. Watching just one video I could create a 12 bar blues pattern via ez compose, which was impossible to me just from the manual. Just the other way round: after learning to use the functions and their variations from the tutorial could understand the manual.
Thanks to Davids course I can make fully use of this rhythm computer with its phantstic sounds and all of its pattern programming possibilities in short time, which otherwise would have been impossible (I have been trying hard before, spending many days without learning more then some fundamtental functions).
