I have until now been a Yamaha workstation user but decided I needed to go forth on a new venture so bought a pristine 2009 G8 with ARX 1 & 2 installed. This is an extremely difficult instrument to master if you’ve never used Roland hardware before and things would never become any easier without help. So, I paid for the Pro Audo EXP tutorial. So far so good although I haven’t progressed further than using the sequencer really. The thing I like best about it is it’s sofistication, editing and above all the built in DAW.
Concise, to the point. Great help in working my way around the controls. It should be noted that it’s best for the user to familiarize oneself on how to navigate the controls a bit by “playing around” with the controls surface. You can’t do any thing wrong by doing so. In this way while your using the tutorial you’ll understand a few points that are given as already understood. This tutorial is a great tool to mastering the Fantom G.
Im not a pro-musician. The fantom G is the second syntheziser I have bought. There is nothing on this Course thats not included in the main manual but its a great complement expecially when your a newbie on the Fantom. Things can be so much easier to understand when someone is showing you how to do it. There is simply no reason why any new Fantom-owner shouldnt have this Course back home...
Wow. I thought that I had a handle on the G7, but your video showed me so many little things I have overlooked. I love the way you are easy to understand, concise and to the point. What I would like though, is a video on using the software interfaces and librarians. Also, Are you going to do on on the Synth-AX? Very Nice, they should include your videos with every purchase. Definitely recommending to all!

Very clear explanations, in depth training. Great product.
I've watched ProAudioDVDs's video tutorial for the Fantom-G and it's really very good. Wills' presentational style is friendly and easy-going. That may seem a strange thing to say, but compare his style with the more closely scripted tutorials available from some other training companies, often read by word-perfect narrators or minimum-rate actors who are obviously completely uninterested in the material and you'll see what I mean (see, for example, the DAW videos from Digital Music Doctor - comprehensive and thorough but sleep-inducing). By contrast, Wills is a genuine enthusiast who wants to share his interest in the Fantom-G and enjoyment of music-making; so he seeks to engage you in the learning process and he succeeds in that mission. I really enjoyed watching this instructional video and have learned a lot from it. At less than $30 (US dollars), it's also excellent value. Highly recommended.
I used David's training program for the Roland Fantom-G8 Workstation and now the Ultimate Home Recording School. The material is presented in an easy-to-take casual and friendly format, it is clear, complete, and easy to follow. David is an excellent teacher and it feels like you've got your own personal expert there with you going at your own pace. These tutorials are well worth the money and have enabled me to get much more out of my equipment within a very short time. Thanks David!
In short, awesome. The tutorial is nicely paced, and can be watched as a general overview, or paused so you can follow the steps nicely (and ensure that the what you see on your screen is what your instrument is displaying). The video gives you more than you will ever need, yet delivers it in a compact easy-to-understand package. More details can be obtained from the manual as required, and you are encouraged to experiment according to the specialization you want your Fantom G series workstation to deliver. The instructor used was the first instructor in the VHS video for the original Roland Fantom 76 first manufactured in 2002. He is very experienced, knowledgeable and expresses the material well.
