V1.4 firmware of Allen & Heath is newly released for its SQ Series mixers

V1.4 firmware is the new product of Allen & Heath that has released for its SQ series. This series delivers new sound and mixing features.

V1.4 firmware has a dynamic processing option ported from the company’s flagship dLive digital mixing system. Additionally, V1.4 firmware has a trio of powerful audio tools. It is composed of the following add-ons features: Multiband Compressors, Dynamic EQ and De-Esser, all straight from the FX Rack of dLive. This feature will allow SQ users, musicians or audio professionals to have up to eight instances that can be inserted on any input channel, group or mix.

Part of this industry news, V1.4 firmware also introduces a most-awaited feature—the offline mode for SQ’s MixPad App. This feature will be released for PC and Mac (previously iOS and Android only). Offline mode enables audio engineers to create entire show files without the need for an SQ, manage shows and scenes offline, and send and receive entire shows over a wired or wireless network.

Its users can have easier home recording work, allowing them to streamline their workflow using SQ’s new Input Ganging. This feature has eight separate gangs with drag ‘n’ drop set-up to link processing, routing, and faders across multiple input channels and can also be switched per-scene.

Additionally, V1.4 firmware also has Recall Filters. This feature provides further control over the mix and have been extended to include per-scene filtering. This feature is ideal for theatre engineers or those needing to use complex scene-to-scene recalls.

For installations and studio engineers’ purposes, V1.4 firmware has a high-resolution MIDI control. During installation, once the mixer has been implemented, it will be enabled some relative adjustments of essential parameters remotely, as well as the ability to send automation from a DAW, or send and receive scene changes, all via network or USB.

Additional features V1.4 firmware include a Mono option for the Matrices, store, and recall of individual scenes and libraries to a USB device, socket control directly from the I/O screen, and new SoftKey / Soft Rotary options.
